About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to support their engineering and surveying teams in the preparation of high-quality technical drawings and plans. This role plays a key part in transforming field data and design concepts into accurate, production-ready drawings for civil engineering and land development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and/or 3D drawings using CAD software for civil engineering and surveying projects
- Assist in the development of site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and construction documents
- Interpret field survey data, sketches, and engineering markups to produce accurate drawings
- Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and version control
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy and completeness
- Revise drawings based on feedback, redlines, and project updates
- Support plotting, formatting, and document preparation for client deliverables and permitting
- Ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in civil engineering or land surveying
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); experience with Civil 3D is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, layers, scaling, and dimensioning
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and survey data
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
