ABOUT FIREWATER RESTORATION SERVICES

FireWater Restoration Services is a family-owned disaster restoration company serving Renton and South King County since 2005, specializing in water, fire, mold, and reconstruction services. As a DKI network member and BBB A accredited business, we've built our reputation on responsive, high-quality work for homeowners, property managers, and insurance partners. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organized, people-focused Office Manager / HR Specialist to help keep our operations running smoothly and support our growing team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Office Manager / HR Specialist is a dual-function role responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the office and the core human resources functions that support our technicians and staff. This person will be the operational backbone of the office — managing scheduling, vendor and office administration, and front-office coordination — while also owning recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and HR compliance. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on structure, enjoys variety, and wants to be a trusted point of contact for both leadership and the field team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Office Management:

•      Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a well-organized, efficient, and welcoming work environment

•      Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships (IT, janitorial, office vendors, etc.)

•      Serve as the first point of contact for phone calls, visitors, and general office inquiries

•      Support scheduling and calendar coordination for leadership and field teams

•      Maintain organized filing systems for company records, contracts, and compliance documents

•      Assist with accounts payable/receivable coordination and basic bookkeeping support alongside the accounting function

•      Coordinate company meetings, events, and internal communications

•      Track and help maintain licensing, insurance certificates, and vehicle/equipment documentation

Human Resources:

•      Manage full-cycle recruiting: posting openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring decisions

•      Conduct new hire onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, and initial training coordination

•      Maintain accurate, confidential employee records including certifications (IICRC), licenses, and required documentation

•      Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the point of contact for benefits questions

•      Support payroll processing in coordination with accounting/finance

•      Track PTO, attendance, and time-off requests

•      Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (WA L&I, EEOC, wage & hour, etc.)

•      Help maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and job descriptions

•      Support performance review processes and assist managers with HR-related questions

•      Handle employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism, escalating as appropriate

•      Coordinate workers' compensation claims and safety compliance documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

•      2 years of experience in office management, HR administration, or a combined role (construction, restoration, or trades industry experience a plus)

•      Working knowledge of HR fundamentals: recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and employment compliance

•      Familiarity with Washington State employment law (L&I, wage & hour) preferred

•      Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

•      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•      Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; experience with HRIS or payroll software a plus

•      High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information

•      A collaborative, service-oriented mindset — comfortable supporting both office staff and field technicians

•      Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

•      SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification a plus, not required

WHAT WE OFFER

•      Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

•      A stable, family-owned company culture with room to grow as the business expands

•      Health benefits and paid time off

•      The opportunity to build and shape HR processes as the company scales

•      A collaborative team environment where your contributions are visible and valued
