Overview

The Director of Human Resources Administration provides strategic and operational leadership for Áegis Living’s HR administration, human capital management systems, and employee benefits. This role leads and develops a team responsible for HR administration and benefits, setting clear priorities, service standards, and accountability for high-quality employee support. The Director leads project management for the ongoing implementation and optimization of ADP Lyric, ensuring that technology, data, processes, and user experiences support a growing, employee-centered organization. The Director also oversees benefits administration for all employees, with accountability for compliance, vendor performance, service quality, cost stewardship, and effective employee communication.

Responsibilities

ADP Lyric and HR Systems

  • Serve as a key connector across Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, Operations, and community leadership, ensuring shared priorities are translated into coordinated plans, clear responsibilities, and timely execution for the ongoing implementation, stabilization, and optimization of ADP Lyric across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead ADP Lyric cross-functional initiatives that require alignment across multiple functions, facilitating decisions, resolving competing priorities, removing barriers, and holding stakeholders accountable for agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Lead data cleansing, conversion validation, testing, issue resolution, change control, readiness reviews, and module go-live planning.
  • Establish governance for system access, data quality, privacy, documentation, release management, and enhancement prioritization.
  • Build adoption through role-based training, clear communications, job aids, office hours, and a sustainable support model for employees, leaders, and HR practitioners.
  • Evaluate system performance and user feedback; maintain a prioritized project roadmap that increases automation, improves the employee experience, and reduces administrative effort.

Employee Benefits Leadership

  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership and oversight of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, and related offerings.
  • Evaluate benefit program performance, utilization, competitiveness, employee experience, and cost trends; recommend data-informed improvements to plan design and funding.
  • Manage Benefits Coordinator team; assess team structure, roles, workload, and capabilities; recommend and implement changes needed to support organizational growth, operational excellence, and a high-quality employee experience aligned with the company’s mission to be an employer of choice.
  • Lead annual planning and renewal activities, partnering with brokers, consultants, carriers, administrators, Finance, Payroll, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely eligibility, enrollment, deductions, carrier feeds, reconciliations, life-event processing, leave coordination, and vendor issue resolution.
  • Direct annual enrollment strategy, configuration, testing, communications, decision support, and employee education.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements and coordinate required notices, filings, audits, testing, and plan documentation with internal and external experts.
  • Establish service-level expectations and performance measures for brokers, carriers, recordkeepers, and administrators; hold partners accountable for results.
  • Develop clear, inclusive benefits communications that help employees understand and use their programs effectively.

HR Administration, Data, and Operations

  • Set standards for accurate, timely, and consistent HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job and pay changes, leaves, records collection, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Strengthen controls, documentation, audit readiness, records practices, and separation of duties across HR processes.
  • Create dashboards and recurring reporting for workforce, benefits, service delivery, adoption, data quality, and project performance.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to identify process gaps, redesign workflows, and implement scalable solutions that support community operations.
  • Safeguard confidential employee information and promote appropriate access, privacy, and security practices.

Leadership and Partnership

  • Build strong partnerships with community and Home Office leaders to understand operational needs, anticipate challenges, and ensure HR systems and administrative practices effectively support leaders and employees.
  • Partner with HR leadership to translate organizational and people strategies into scalable systems, processes, service models, and operating practices.
  • Prepare concise recommendations, risk assessments, status reports, and decision materials for senior leaders and governance groups.
  • Create a culture of strong customer service, shared accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving across HR Administration and Benefits.
  • Model accountability, collaboration, discretion, continuous improvement, and Áegis Living’s commitment to caring for employees who care for residents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in HR operations, HR systems, benefits, payroll-adjacent administration, or related disciplines, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading a complex enterprise HCM implementation or major transformation; direct ADP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Substantial experience administering multi-state employee benefits and managing relationships with brokers, carriers, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators.
  • Strong project and change management capability, including governance, requirements, testing, risk management, stakeholder alignment, training, and adoption.
  • Working knowledge of HR and benefits compliance; ability to partner effectively with legal, tax, privacy, security, and other specialists.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience using HR data, dashboards, reconciliations, and controls to drive decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive-presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed, hourly workforce in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or another multi-site environment is preferred.
  • Relevant credentials such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CEBS, PMP, or Prosci certification are preferred.
