What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Placement Specialist position at FIRETREE LTD?
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide for resident employment assistance, life skills programming, and maintaining vital resident community resources to ensure resident continuity of care and satisfactory re-entry transitional needs are met. The position also assists residents of the program with medication and pharmacy needs.
This is a diverse position with no two days being the same.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.
- Assists in completion of resident’s Individualized Program Plan;
- Secures job placement resources both in the RRC and in the community, to include the Department of Labor’s One-Stop System, consistent with current labor market trends;
- Provides employment information assistance using computer-based technology and resources which include career assistance software and on-line resources (e.g., Internet, America’s Career Info Net). The EPS will have direct access to the Internet to meet this requirement;
- Assists in portfolio development, resume writing, proper dress, and interview techniques training;
- Attends employment job fairs either on-site or in partnership with other organizations, such as community colleges; and community sponsored job expos.
- Assists residents with job retention and attempts to match the skill sets to job placement.
- The EPS processes all new resident medications coming into the facility, entering them into the R3M system, and may be required to pick-up meds at the pharmacy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
