FireRock Luxury Building Materials
Birmingham, AL Full Time
POSTED ON 10/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/17/2027

FireRock is a Birmingham-based luxury building materials company serving custom homebuilders, architects, designers, and distributors across the country. We manufacture masonry fireplaces and concrete architectural pavers and offer a broader materials portfolio that includes wood flooring, slate and cedar roofing, and other architectural products.

We are a driven team building a great business, and we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us build the team that supports our growth.

The Opportunity

You will own recruiting searches across FireRock, working directly with leadership to identify, engage, and hire strong candidates. Hiring needs span sales, manufacturing and fulfillment, operations, accounting, and support.

This role requires someone who takes ownership of each search: learning the business, developing and executing targeted sourcing strategies, and thoroughly evaluating candidates’ experience, track record, capabilities, and fit for the role. You will lead the hiring process from sourcing through offer acceptance, providing leadership with well-supported recommendations and driving each search to completion.

What You Will Do

Build a clear plan for each search

Understand hiring priorities, role responsibilities, candidate requirements, and what success looks like in each position.

Develop job descriptions, candidate profiles, and thorough sourcing plans tailored to each role and market.

Learn FireRock’s products, customers, sales model, and plant environment so you can explain the opportunity accurately and assess fit.

Find and engage strong candidates

Own the sourcing strategy for each search, identifying target companies, talent pools, and channels to find qualified candidates.

Proactively engage candidates, communicate the opportunity persuasively, and build their interest in FireRock.

Build qualified candidate pipelines and evaluate sourcing results, adjusting the strategy as needed to advance each search.

Evaluate candidates and guide hiring decisions

Own a rigorous evaluation process, using structured interviews, assessments, and reference checks to assess candidates’ capabilities, track record, judgment, and fit for the role.

Probe for specific examples of performance, validate accomplishments, and resolve gaps or concerns before recommending candidates.

Provide leadership with clear candidate evaluations and well-supported recommendations, including strengths, risks, and areas requiring further consideration.

Ensure candidates understand the role’s responsibilities, expectations, and working environment.

Build a disciplined recruiting process

Maintain accurate candidate pipelines, interview notes, and next steps in a shared recruiting system.

Lead a weekly pipeline review covering qualified candidates, search progress, outstanding decisions, and priorities for the following week.

Track sourcing effectiveness, candidate conversion, time to fill, and hiring outcomes; use the results to improve future searches.

Coordinate with external recruiting partners when needed and maintain discretion with candidate and company information.

What We Are Looking For

A track record of proactively sourcing candidates and managing searches from intake through hire.

Experience recruiting sales, manufacturing, operations, or professional roles; building materials or related industry experience is preferred.

Strong interviewing skills and the judgment to distinguish a polished interview from evidence of performance.

Confidence reaching out to candidates who are not actively looking and explaining why an opportunity may be worth considering.

Excellent organization, clear communication, and consistent follow-through across multiple searches.

The ability to work independently, adjust your approach, and stay persistent when a search is difficult.

Comfort working directly with leadership in a growing business where priorities can change.

How Success Will Be Measured

Success means consistently hiring people who meet FireRock’s performance expectations and contribute to the company over time. You will be accountable for the quality of hires, thorough candidate evaluation, strong candidate pipelines, and timely completion of searches, with clear reporting and independent ownership of the recruiting process.

Why FireRock

You will partner directly with FireRock’s leadership and take ownership of building the team that supports our growth. This is an opportunity to shape how we attract and evaluate talent, strengthen the organization, and influence the company’s future through the people we hire.
