Shop Foreman

Fireblast Global is a specialized manufacturer of live fire training simulators delivering realistic, hands-on training for firefighters and emergency responders. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Shop Foreman will be the single point of accountability for daily production floor execution. This role owns production flow, labor deployment and development, and schedule attainment while ensuring work moves efficiently, safely, and according to standard processes. This role requires a strong floor presence, rapid decision-making, accountability, and a relentless focus on throughput, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Production Execution & Flow Management

• Own daily production execution against the established schedule.
• Drive schedule adherence and ensure work progresses according to plan.
• Monitor production flow and identify constraints, bottlenecks, and interruptions.
• Take immediate action to remove obstacles that impact throughput.
• Enforce Work-In-Process (WIP) limits and maintain healthy production flow.
• Continuously balance resources to maximize productivity and throughput.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks to identify issues before they become disruptions.

Resource Management

• Assign work to fabricators, welders, machine operators, assembly, and general labor personnel.
• Reallocate personnel as needed to maintain flow and meet production objectives.
• Monitor labor utilization and ensure labor hours remain aligned with estimates.
• Provide hands-on floor support when operational needs require it.

Quality & Performance

• Drive improvement in First Pass Yield (FPY).
• Stop production when quality concerns are identified.
• Support NCR documentation and quality investigations.
• Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve recurring issues.
• Review completed work for accuracy and compliance with specifications.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead and support Kaizen activities and operational improvements.
• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, delays, and inefficiencies.
• Promote cross-functional coordination and communication.
• Support implementation of process improvements that increase throughput and predictability.

Safety & Team Development

• Champion a safe work environment and adherence to safety requirements.
• Support 5S initiatives and workplace organization.
• Assist with onboarding and floor integration of new team members.
• Foster accountability, teamwork, and a culture of operational excellence.
• Monitor team members performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Lead, train, mentor, and support production team members.

Additional Requirements

• Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and carrying. Job requires working inside and outside in environments that present occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, keeping your area clean and organized etc.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain full compliance with company policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Fireblast Guide to Business Conduct.

• Participate in daily continuous improvement projects.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Preferred Background

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge of CNC Machinery, Press Brakes, Lasers, and fabrication equipment (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
