Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Superintendent, plan, organize, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate all district athletic programs and activities for Firebaugh Las Deltas Unified School District, including all middle school and high school athletic programs. The District Athletic Director provides leadership and oversight for interscholastic athletics, student athlete eligibility, coaching staff, athletic budgets, facilities, transportation, compliance, safety, and community partnerships. The District Athletic Director shall ensure that all athletic programs support the educational mission of the District while promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, student safety, equity, and competitive excellence. The District Athletic Director may also be assigned to collaborate with and support the City of Firebaugh Parks and Recreation Department in the coordination and oversight of community recreation programs, athletic facilities, scheduling of events, and youth recreation activities through established agreements between the District and the City.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE Minimum of: Successful coaching experience. Three years of successful administrative, athletic administration, or leadership experience. Experience supervising and evaluating personnel is preferred. Experience managing athletic programs at the secondary level is highly desirable. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Leadership, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Valid California Administrative Services Credential required. Valid California Teaching Credential preferred. Valid California Class C Driver License. Valid First Aid and CPR Certification. CIF Athletic Administrator Certification preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
