What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Fire Protection Services, LLC?
We are a locally owned service company seeking a Staff Accountant with significant Finance experience. Successful candidates will be experts in accounting operations, to include the production of periodic financial reports. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the development and oversight of financial management systems and processes, including the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, and analyzing data for members of the management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage overall day-to-day accounting operations for the Company.
- Oversee the month-end close process related to the operations of the company, including all revenue and cost-related accounts, margin analysis and timely reporting of results.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping management informed of critical issues.
- Manage bank accounts, reconciliations and cash flow as appropriate.
- Implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process.
- Provide analytical support to the management team.
- Process the tax returns for the organization.
- Provide oversight for accurate and timely payment of all accounts payable.
- Manage all purchasing functions, including maintaining and controlling appropriate inventory, PO processing, driving cost savings initiatives and all other purchasing responsibilities.
- Assist with other duties as assigned and additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks.
- Purchasing experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of independent judgment under minimal supervision.
- Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills.
