What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Turning Programmer-Machinist (Fanuc/Mastercam) position at Finzer Roller Manufacturing?
Since 1968, Finzer Roller has led the rubber roller manufacturing industry with value-added solutions. Our innovative rubber compounds power a wide range of applications, and our technical representatives are trusted experts in rubber roller and rotary brush technologies.
A Day in This RoleYou arrive ready to turn complex drawings into precise parts. You open Mastercam to program a new job, post clean G-code, and head to the floor to set up a Fanuc-controlled Doosan lathe. With tooling dialed in and offsets set, you run the first article, verify dimensions with micrometers and calipers, and fine-tune to hold ±0.001 inch. Between cycles, you review prints for the next run, repair a steel or aluminum roller core, and keep an eye on process quality so production flows smoothly.
- Program CNC lathes using Mastercam and G-code for 2–4 axis turning.
- Set up and operate CNC engine lathes with Fanuc controls.
- Machine tight-tolerance parts to ±0.001 inch.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan setups.
- Repair steel and aluminum cores using CNC turning methods.
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) to validate quality.
