Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of commercial banking experience
- Formal commercial credit training required
- Experience underwriting and managing Middle Market commercial credit relationships
- Demonstrated experience in commercial loan structuring
- Strong financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit risk assessment skills
- Knowledge of commercial lending documentation, covenant monitoring, and portfolio administration
- Experience managing complex commercial loan portfolios throughout the credit lifecycle
- Previous experience mentoring Associates or junior Portfolio Managers preferred
- Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills
Description:
- Manage the underwriting and ongoing credit administration of a portfolio of Middle Market commercial banking clients with a focus on C&I lending
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and industry trends to evaluate credit quality and structure appropriate lending solutions
- Prepare comprehensive credit underwriting packages, annual reviews, renewals, risk assessments, and portfolio monitoring reports
- Lead portfolio management activities including covenant compliance, financial reporting collection, maturity management, exception tracking, and risk rating maintenance
- Coordinate commercial loan closing activities with internal operations and closing teams to ensure timely execution and documentation
- Review borrowing base availability, approve advances within established authority, and support routine portfolio servicing requests
- Partner closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to support existing client relationships, identify cross-sell opportunities, and participate in client meetings as needed
- Maintain accurate portfolio reporting, monitor credit quality, and proactively identify emerging risks while recommending appropriate mitigation strategies
- Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Associates and Senior Associates, supporting underwriting development and portfolio management best practices
- Reports to Commercial Banking leadership and collaborates closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Loan Operations, Treasury Management, and Portfolio Support teams
