Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Civil Construction Estimator with 4D BIM experience to join our preconstruction team. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial civil construction projects while using BIM technology and scheduling tools to improve cost accuracy, constructability, and project planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, detailed, and final cost estimates for commercial civil projects.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
- Estimate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify risks and scope gaps.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Perform value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop or review 4D BIM models by linking 3D models with construction schedules.
- Evaluate construction sequencing, site logistics, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and BIM/VDC teams.
- Support project handover from estimating to construction operations.
Qualifications
- 5 years of civil construction estimating experience preferred.
- Strong background in commercial civil construction and site development.
- Practical experience with 4D BIM, BIM/VDC, or model-based construction sequencing.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and construction scheduling.
- Experience with InEight Estimate is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with tools such as Synchro 4D, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, HCSS, B2W, and Excel is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, productivity, and project sequencing.
