Summary

Essential Functions
- Perform interior and exterior detailing per work order and SOP (wash, decontaminate, vacuum, shampoo, extract, polish/correct, sealant/wax, trim/tire dress, glass).
- Use chemicals and tools safely: follow label/SDS instructions; operate buffers, extractors, steamers, pressure washers, and vacuums per SOP.
- Protect vehicles and property: cover/protect sensitive areas, document pre-existing damage, maintain ticket/key accuracy, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Safely move customer vehicles between staging/arrival lanes, wash, bays, parking areas per traffic plans; operate automatic and manual transmissions; follow speed and pedestrian rules.
- Maintain shop readiness: stock chemicals and towels, stage equipment, keep bays and racks clean and organized, complete opening/closing checklists.
- Quality control: inspect work against SOP and customer selections; correct defects before release.
- Basic guest communication: provide simple status updates and route complex issues to the lead or manager.
- Team collaboration: coordinate multi-tech jobs, split tasks per SOP, and assist others to meet time standards.
- Perform other job-related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. These are not considered essential functions and will be assigned consistent with training, safety, and business need.
Minimum Qualifications
- Attention to detail; ability to follow written SOPs and work orders.
- Basic familiarity with detailing tools and chemicals (training provided).
- Clear verbal communication and customer-service mindset.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior auto detailing or dealership reconditioning experience.
- Experience using extractors/steamers and dual-action polishers.
- Basic inventory/stocking experience in a shop environment.

Hiring Details and Compensation:

Training Period: $19.29 per hour, non-exempt. Training will last a minimum of 2 weeks and may extend up to 6 weeks, depending on individual progress.

Post-Training: Upon successful completion of training, pay will transition from hourly to commission-based and will move to Exempt status. Employees will earn 30% commission on all services performed.

In compliance with the Department of Labor standards, your hourly wage "floor" will be based on your clocked hours, paid at a rate of 1.5 times the local minimum wage ($28.94). This means you will never earn less than this floor amount, regardless of the commission earned from services.

Safety-Sensitive Requirements (applies to all facility roles)
- Valid driver’s license for at least 2 consecutive years; meet insurer insurability criteria; annual MVR review.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and negotiate three steps while carrying.
- Comply with FINE’s substance-free workplace policy.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Extended standing and walking; frequent vehicle entry and exit for short moves.
- Repetitive use of hand and foot controls when operating vehicles and shop equipment.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of detailing tools, chemicals, mats, and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of carts, vacuums, extractors, hoses, and pressure-washer lines.
- Repetitive motions and fine manipulation, including wiping, scrubbing, polishing, and spraying.
- Indoor shop and outdoor work areas with exposure to heat, cold, precipitation, chemicals/odors, noise, and active traffic near the bays.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
