Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint reading: Learning to interpret blueprints and construction drawings to understand project plans.
- Tool usage: Properly handling and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools used in carpentry.
- Material handling: Moving and organizing wood materials on the job site.
- Basic construction tasks: Installing basic structures like framing, door and window frames, flooring, and trim under supervision.
- Safety compliance: Following established safety procedures and wearing necessary protective gear.
- Cleaning and maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized.
- On-the-job training: Actively learning from a journeyman carpenter through observation and hands-on experience.
- Classroom instruction: Attending related carpentry training courses to gain theoretical knowledge.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements
- Physical strength and stamina for demanding work
