Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing engineering functions including designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, high quality standards, and cost-effectiveness, while leading a team of engineers to achieve operational excellence and meet organizational business goals.
Responsibilities
- Ability to develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including assembly methods, tooling selection, and workflow optimization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Leads engineering projects from conception to implementation, including setting project timelines, managing budgets, and allocating resources to ensure successful completion.
- Supervises a team of manufacturing engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
- Ensures all manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards, identify and address quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to analyze production costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, cycle time, scrap rates, and yield, and use data to identify areas for improvement.
- Works closely with other departments including R&D, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth product transition from product design to manufacturing processes.
- Champions lean manufacturing principles and drives initiatives to improve overall production efficiency, reduce lead times and eliminate waste.
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or related field.
- 5-10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience in automation projects (programing, implementation, and process development).
- Experience implementing and planning capital improvement projects.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
