Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Chief Financial Officer, Office of Financial Management, in Burlington, Vermont; Irving, Texas; Williston, Vermont.

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
  • Preparing cost reports, and recommendations upon request.
  • Recommending policies to improve and stimulate the financial condition of the employer.
  • Preparing reports from a variety of sources, identifying problem areas.
  • Providing analyses, projections, and interpretations to maintain maximum efficiency and effectiveness

Responsibilities:

As a Supervisory Financial Program Specialist, at the full performance level you will perform the following duties:
  • The incumbent through subordinate employees manages the maintenance, auditing, and reconciliation of general and subsidiary ledger accounts, the preparation of accurate and timely reports, and the control of funds.
  • Examine, verify and maintain financial accounting data, classify accounting transactions, and verify the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data.
  • The incumbent perform and is responsible for the analytical and evaluative work associated with accounts payable, deposits, immigration bonds, or accounts receivable.
  • Review, verify, and process disbursement payment requests submitted by contractors for design, construction, rehabilitation, and goods and services provided in support of programs.
