This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Birmingham Disaster Loan Service Center in Dallas, TX. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Loan Specialist and is responsible for directing and overseeing the loan servicing and liquidation activities performed at the Center.

Loan Specialist Series - 1165
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Generally, time in Non-Pay status as a federal employee is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed above.
All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 05/29/2026.
Qualifications:
GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:- In-depth analysis of obligator's financial statements and earning potential of a variety of business enterprises to make recommendations for residential and commercial/business loan applications or servicing/liquidation actions, including a thorough working knowledge of a variety of collateral, business types, loan program and general economic conditions. AND
- Leading a team or managing an office of loan officers/specialists in business / residential loan programs including but not limited to servicing, collections, and/or loan liquidation.
