What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Arraignment Clerk position at Fifth Judicial District of Pennsylvania?
This is a clerical position in the Court Arraignment Office, Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas, which requires diligent performance of duties to ensure smooth performance of the daily functions of the Formal Arraignment office and carried out under the direction of the Court Arraignment Supervisor with established policies and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of computer usage, data entry skills, and familiarity with accessing the internet.
- Ability to carry out moderate tasks with accuracy under some supervision.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with court officials, other agencies, attorneys, associates and the public.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete training in the Criminal Division Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS)?
1. Organizing all criminal court files for the arraignment office
2. Answering all incoming telephone calls
3. Retrieving and distributing court files from the Department of Court Records
4. Filing correspondence/motions in the appropriate case files
5. Providing pertinent information to defendants and to other court users upon request
6. Updating the court management system with addresses or confinement location
7. Performing general clerical duties as required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
