About the Role
The Fifth Circuit CASA Program is growing, and we are looking for a motivated and compassionate professional to join our team. The Advocacy Support Specialist will assist with day-to-day program operations, including assisting with case management, providing volunteer support, assisting with communications. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of administrative organization, relationship building, and creative outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Case and Volunteer Support
- Assist the Executive Director with case management by ensuring accurate and timely data entry and documentation in Optima
- Draft and input hearing summaries and communications from other agencies into Optima
- Perform background checks and assist with interviewing candidates.
- Provide ongoing support and communication to CASA volunteers and applicants, including scheduling, reminders, and follow-up on cases.
- Attend court hearings or meetings on behalf of the Executive Director as needed. Over time, this position will oversee up to 15 cases in Brown County along with the volunteers assigned to those cases
- Assist with volunteer training sessions, workshops, and recognition events. Documenting training hours and keeping track in Optima.
- Assist with mailing out notices and other communications.
Outreach and Communications
- Assist with the monthly Newsletter and updating mailing lists.
- Work with Executive Director on engaging posts and content to highlight CASA’s mission, events, and impact.
- Assist with donor recognition, community partnerships, and promotional campaigns.
Administrative and Data Management
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Assist with Input and updating program data for reporting and grant purposes.
- Support event logistics and assist with marketing materials and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or current student in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Business, Communications, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 21 years or older
- Able to pass a background check and Central Registry check
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience and passion in social services, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit work preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and database management.
- Compassion for CASA’s mission and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Schedule and Compensation
- .75 Full-time, Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm with occasional evenings or weekends for trainings or events.
- Competitive pay based on experience.
