Position Summary:
Youth Baseball Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate baseball instruction to youth participants of all ages and skill levels. This position supports clinics, camps, private lessons, and team development programs in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment. The ideal candidate has strong baseball knowledge, experience working with youth, and a passion for teaching the fundamentals of the game with energy and professionalism.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and assist youth baseball instruction for camps, clinics, private lessons, and group training sessions.
- Teach age-appropriate fundamentals including hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and game awareness.
- Foster a positive learning environment focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Supervise participants to ensure safety, discipline, and enjoyment during all instructional sessions.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, and program leaders in a professional and approachable manner.
- Assist with setup and takedown of training areas and ensure equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Provide feedback and evaluations to participants and/or parents as requested.
- Support the planning and execution of baseball programming, including tournaments, showcases, and developmental leagues.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for young athletes.
- Report incidents, injuries, or facility issues to the Director of Baseball Operations or General Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience coaching, instructing, or playing baseball at a competitive level.
- Strong understanding of baseball mechanics, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to engage with youth in a positive, supportive, and age-appropriate manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends based on programming needs.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
- Frequently required to walk, run, kneel, crouch, throw, and demonstrate athletic movements.
- Must be able to lift and move sports equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Must have the stamina to actively engage with participants for extended periods of time.
