Stepdown - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN
- Shifts: 12hr, 19:00-07:00
Job Summary:
Provides specialized cardiac care and monitoring in hospital telemetry units and manage patients with unstable cardiac conditions, post-surgical recovery, or complex conditions requiring high-acuity, 24/7 care.
Key Responsibilities:
- High-level knowledge of cardiac medicine and EKG interpretation.
- Administer medications and maintain patient records.
- Observe and report patient responses and complications.
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatments.
- Collaborate with healthcare team and participate in shift handoffs.
- Adhere to infection control and emergency response protocols.
Requirements:
- RN license in state of assignment. Compact License AllowedMust have taxable address outside of 50 miles from facility
- Minimum 2-year(s) exp.
- BLS and ACLS required. NIHSS and MOAB preferred.
- Experience in telemetry or step-down preferred.
- Strong assessment, multitasking, and crisis management skills.
Work Environment & Demands:
- Will work every other weekend
- Hospital settings (Med-Surg units, post-op recovery, step-down).
- Physical demands include standing, lifting patients/equipment, and stress management.
