JOB REQUIREMENTS: Fickett Structural Solutions, Inc. is looking for an
experienced Structural Steel Inspector with Nondestructive Testing (NDT)
Level II certifications. Our ideal candidates are skilled at critical

OVERVIEW Perform Visual Inspections (VT) and NDT of structural steel
utilizing Magnetic Particle (MT) and Ultrasonic (UT) Shear Wave and
Straight Beam methods as specified by designs, shop drawings,
specifications, and applicable industry codes Work closely with
fabricators and contractors, in a fabrication shop or at a construction
site Coordinate inspections and NDT with the project manager or
responsible person in charge Prepare timely, detailed reports of the
inspection and testing results, including descriptions, drawings,
photos, etc., of nonconforming details with deficiencies identified
Travel for out-of-town field work (which will require consecutive
overnight stays) Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to
specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers,
gauges, or micrometers. Mark items with details, such as grade or
acceptance-rejection status. Notify supervisors or other personnel of
production problems. Inspect, test, or measure materials, products,
installations, or work for conformance to specifications. Write test or
inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed
repairs. Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection
results. Read dials or meters to verify that equipment is functioning at
specified levels. Make minor adjustments to equipment, such as turning
setscrews to calibrate instruments to required tolerances. Read
blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine
specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods,
certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Monitor production operations or equipment to ensure conformance to
specifications, making necessary process or assembly adjustments. Record
inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or
moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded. Collect or select
samples for testing or for use as models. Inspect or test raw materials,
parts, or products to determine compliance with environmental standards.
Analyze test data, making computations as necessary, to determine test
results. Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or
materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance
to standards. Administer tests to assess whether engineers or operators
are qualified to use equipment. Monitor machines that automatically
measure, sort, or inspect products. Interpret legal requirements,
provide safety information, or recommend compliance procedures to
contractors, craft workers, engineers, or property owners. \*\*\*\*\*
OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS Education and
Certifications Must be able to successfully pass NDT Level II
Certification per Fickett Structural Solutions\' internal certification
requirements (per ASNT SNT-TC-1A and CP-189) ICC Special Inspector
Certifications in Structural Steel and Bolting and Structural Welding a
plus 2-year technical degree in NDT or equivalent combination of
training, knowledge, and on-the-job experience a plus A current
certificate as a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) with D1.1 or D1.5 work
experience a plus, but not required Previous Work Experience and Skills
Relevant experience with visual and NDT of structural steel welding and
bolting inspections. Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the
methods for which you are certified. Documented proof of
Experience/on-the-job Training To Meet The Level II Requirements To
SNT-TC-1A and CP-189. Experience w th Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Experience using various computer devices including laptops, iPads,
tablets, etc. Experience writing comprehensive reports is desired but
not required. Ability to define and document problems, collect data,
evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read and
understand plans, specifications, industry codes, and shop drawings.
Physical and Personal Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and
climb up stairwells, in and out of mechanical lift equipment, and on
uneven surfaces. Standing up for 8 hours or more a day may be required.
Comfortable working at heights while utilizing lifts, ladders, and
scaffolding. Some work may be required in confined spaces. While in the
field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions and
