Bookkeeper – Fiber Optics Construction

Role Summary: We are seeking a bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting, track project costs, and support the Billing Coordinator in ensuring accurate project financials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with construction or utility accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process and verify subcontractor invoices in coordination with the Billing Coordinator.
- Track project costs, purchase orders, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinate with CPA to prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closings, as well as ad hoc financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and documentation requirements.
Requirements:
- 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (construction/utility experience preferred)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel/Sheets
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Strong communication skills; able to work collaboratively with Billing Coordinator and project teams
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- Possible monthly travel to Dallas
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
