The Purchasing Lead is responsible for buying, replenishing, and managing inventory for a wide variety of wine, beer, and spirits. This role will analyze past industry trends, sales history, price, and velocity to inform purchasing decisions including Purchasing Lead

We are currently looking for an Experienced Purchasing professional to join our team.
The Purchasing Lead is responsible for buying, replenishing, and managing inventory for a wide variety of wine, beer, and spirits. This role will analyze past buying trends, sales records, price, and velocity of sales to determine value and yield to determine purchasing decisions including order quantities, pars, seasonal mix and product turns. The Purchasing Lead will help perform their duties according to contractual agreements.
We are looking for a qualified applicant with 4 years of experience in product purchasing, preferably within the food, beverage, and service industry. Wholesale warehouse purchasing experience is preferred.
This role is full-time salaried and will work at least 40 hours per week. The position will report to the Santa Fe office.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
- 4 years of experience in product purchasing, preferably within the food, beverage, and service industry. Wholesale warehouse purchasing experience is preferred.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
- Strong understanding of inventory systems, product management, and purchasing analytics.
Roles and Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
- Maintains fluid communication channels with Sales, Office, Assistant Purchaser and Warehouse re: new items, logistics, OOS’s, price changes, supply chain issues, etc.
· Communicates and manages purchase orders, receiving, logistics in partnership with suppliers and the Fiasco team
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships and lines of communication with all suppliers
- May negotiate contracts, pricing, promotions, transportation arrangements, and service terms
- Fosters and maintains strong relations and communications with Warehouse Team on all matters related to inventory and Warehouse efficiencies and operations
- Creates PO’s, processes and crosschecks supplier confirmations and makes all appropriate changes on PO’s. Disseminates pertinent information to Office and Sales
- Assists GM, generates analytic reporting and assists with operational, category and other strategic interpretation and planning
· Partner with Office and Warehouse Team to conduct weekly, monthly or other periodic tasks such as physical inventory, ad hoc reporting or analytics as needed
Physical Demands:
- Able to climb up and down a ladder. Able to carry 30 lbs up and down a ladder.
· Reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands and fingers, carry, type, talk, hear, count and write.
Compensation and Benefits
- $50,000 to $65,000 Depending on Experience
