We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Territory Sales Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and overseeing large-scale projects. Our ideal candidate will target, agricultural barn builders, building material distributors, Commercial roofing contractors, pre engineer self storage, and new construction builders in both rural and metropolitan markets. This individual must be self-driven, have excellent time management skills, is highly strategic and capable of professional and detailed follow-through to succeed.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS:
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Increase profitable sales and market share with current customers by gaining alignment and commitment, servicing accounts, obtaining orders, and providing technical assistance.
- Attend trade shows, monitor customer activity, and evaluate our position relative to the overall business.
- Establish and maintain a professional rapport with all customers.
- Prospecting and New Account Acquisition:
- Implement strategic and focused efforts to prospect new accounts, aligning with existing truck routes.
- Position long-term value with volume commitments and create programs with strategic customers.
- Market Positioning:
- Maintain an advantaged position over the competition by understanding current market pricing, products, new offerings, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, and promotions.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the General Manager on promotions and recommend changes in products, service, and policy.
- Evaluate results and competitive developments to assist in determining the cost-effectiveness of implementing new products and adjusting product price points.
- Utilization of CRM Resources:
- Effectively utilize CRM resources to log activity, track results, and provide assessment summaries of territory performance for continuous improvement.
- Customer Service and Conflict Resolution:
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, determining solutions, and coordinating with management as appropriate.
- Communicate with Inside Sales and General Manager to ensure customers receive a high level of service from the team.
- Professional Development:
- Stay informed and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products, their use, and their relation to others to provide general product-related technical assistance to customers.
- Adaptability:
- Perform any other job-related duties that the Supervisor may assign.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. Equivalent job-related experience might be substituted for educational degree(s).
Skills:
· Experience in consultative and solution-based sales.
· Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of sales experience targeting end-user customers. Or 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in building materials.
· Proficiency in using MS Office, Outlook, Salesforce, and other software programs.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a willingness to communicate extensively.
· A proven track record of achieving and surpassing professional goals.
· The ability to read and comprehend contracts, construction drawings, building plans, and technical documents.
· Intermediate or advanced knowledge of fall protection solutions, regulations, and/or construction and manufacturing processes.
· Comfortability climbing, walking long distances at heights, kneeling, crouching, lifting, moving, and pulling items weighing at least 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. maximum.
· Must have the ability to travel up to 75% of the time; frequently requiring overnight stays.
