EHS Specialist | Food Packaging

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for a diverse hourly workforce. This position will be experienced in coaching, developing, ensuring adherence to policy/procedures, and maximizing quality compliance. Strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively are required. The Supervisor will guide, train, influence, and support their team members to ensure regulatory compliance, safety and operational efficiencies, and targeted results are met.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for hiring, interviewing, and training employees
• Responsible for performance and appraisal of employees
• Analyze work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedule for production
• Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules; requisitions materials from storage area
• Interprets specifications, drawings and production orders to workers and assigns duties
• Plan flow of materials through departments and develops plans to run machines according to work orders
• Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met or job order status is communicated
• Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
• Directs works in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
• Develops, recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew
• Recommends capital equipment justifications of machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times
• SQF/ISO requirements compliance
  
  

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of operations experience required
• Minimum of 2 years leadership or supervisory experience highly desired
• Qualification or ability to obtain qualification in area strongly preferred
