Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
- Assist with processing weekly payroll for large employer
- Assist with processing new hires, rehire paperwork for a company that has a very dynamic payroll given the nature of a staffing firm
- Process and maintain insurance and 401K benefit enrollments and terminations
- Prepare month end accounting journal entries and reconcile bank accounts
- Assist with managing account payable and accounts receivable collections
- Maintain proper HR documentation and employee-related files
- Cross train with other positions in the accounting department
- Prepare various monthly reports and maintain excel files as needed
- Assist with special projects as needed
Requirements of the Payroll Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
- 2 years of previous payroll experience in a fast paced, growing organization preferred
- Superior knowledge of payroll best practices with a desire for continuous improvement
- Organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work
- Strong data entry, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior technical/computer skills including Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in providing the highest levels of client service internally and externally
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion
Job Specifics:
- $55K - $60K, based on experience
- Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
- Fully in-person, office environment work setting
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
