Electrical Facilities Engineer

As an Electrical Facilities Engineer, you will be a technical leader in the design and optimization of Fervo’s innovative well pad facilities that deliver geothermal brine to / from the power facilities. You will apply advanced engineering judgment and first-principles analysis to develop high-performance, cost-effective electrical system designs, while collaborating with other engineers focused on the power plant system design and influencing cross-disciplinary decision-making. As Fervo transitions from first-of-a-kind projects to scaling deployment of its plants, you will play a key role in driving standardization and efficiency improvements across projects. You will report to the Well Pad Facilities Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities

Technical Execution

• Own specification generation, design, and analysis of electrical systems for well pad facilities (well field electrical equipment, power delivery, systems, transmission, etc.)
• Drive first-principles tradeoff analysis across power delivery systems to optimize system performance
• Identify opportunities to simplify and accelerate designs while maintaining technical excellence
• Inform and support procurement efforts relating to electrical scopes of well pad designs

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 4 years of experience in electrical engineering on large capital projects, preferably involving upstream well sites, gathering systems, and production infrastructure
• Hands-on experience designing and commissioning medium- and high-voltage power distribution and electrical systems supporting well field operations
• Proven background integrating electrical systems into upstream facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards
• Proven ability to execute design, analysis, and field support for complex electrical systems within multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong communication skills; with the ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and external partners

Location

Fervo Energy has offices in Houston, TX, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at our Houston Office will be required.
