Ferti Technologies is a rapidly growing blender of specialty fertilizers for landscape professionals, golf courses, and the retail market. Founded in 1987, Ferti Technologies produces premium quality fertilizers and amendments brought to the market through a network of distributors and retailers while always employing the same exacting production standards. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, a self-starter, able to work with minimal guidance when necessary to join our finance team working out of our Wallingford CT plant and in support of our U.S. locations. Responsibilities:
In this key role, the Financial Controller will be tasked with overseeing all financial processes for U.S. plants, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing internal controls, and providing strategic financial analysis and support to the U.S. operations teams and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with operational teams across all four U.S. locations to support financial planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making
- Oversee cash management activities for U.S. operations
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset process, including tracking and reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and annual financial results and required reports
- Lead and coordinate the annual budget and ongoing forecast processes for all U.S. sites
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across U.S. entities
- Monitor, reconcile, and ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts
- Coordinate and ensure proper execution of monthly cycle counts and annual inventory counts
- Prepare year-end audit files for U.S. operations and support all external audit activities
- Ensure consistent application of financial procedures and internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with external accounting experts on U.S. tax matters
- Provide required information, documentation, and data to government auditors and regulatory agencies
Qualifications & Competencies
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience, including relevant corporate experience
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across departments
- Positive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to dive deeply into complex issues
- Comfortable working autonomously in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
