Accounting Manager
Location: Ohio
Schedule: Hybrid During Training, Then Fully Remote
Compensation: $95,000–$120,000
About the Opportunity
Ferretti Search is partnering with a growing professional services organization to identify an Accounting Manager who thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment. This is a newly created position driven by company growth and expansion plans, including the addition of new office locations throughout the Midwest and Appalachia region.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will serve as the company's primary accounting and finance professional, owning the day-to-day accounting function while helping build scalable processes and infrastructure for future growth.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage the full month-end and year-end close process
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
- Perform account reconciliations and financial statement reviews
- Oversee accounts receivable activities, including collections management
- Monitor cash flow and support cash management initiatives
- Assist with payroll auditing and validation processes
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
- Support annual audits and external accounting relationships
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare management reporting and financial insights for leadership
- Support business planning initiatives and growth projections
- Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models and reporting tools
Process Improvement & Growth Support
- Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend improvements
- Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiencies
- Help establish scalable accounting procedures to support company growth
- Assist with future department development and infrastructure planning
- Partner with leadership on special projects and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA preferred but not required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience working in small to mid-sized businesses strongly preferred
- Experience managing the full accounting cycle from transactional accounting through financial reporting
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Ability to work independently and operate as a self-sufficient accounting professional
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Background
- Experience in professional services, legal, manufacturing, construction, or other small-to-mid-sized business environments
- Background working in lean accounting departments where individuals wear multiple hats
- Experience improving manual processes and implementing efficiencies
- Comfortable working in a growth-oriented and evolving organization
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the business
