Brief Description

Job Summary

Qualified Mental Health Professionals responsible for providing internship supervision according to the requirements laid out by the placing school and clinical trainee supervision according to the requirements laid out by the licensing board including: individual supervision of the clinical trainee, group supervision as applicable, paperwork review and billing supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualified Mental Health Professional Treatment Supervisor is responsible for the clinical supervision of assigned interns and clinical trainees, including direct supervision, paperwork review, and billing.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Meet with each supervisee at a frequency determined by the overseeing body (i.e. the intern’s school or the CT’s licensing board), including group supervision as applicable.
  • Provide clinical supervision and direction to assigned supervisees in a manner that allows for quality client services, professional growth, and staff development.
  • Provide clinical supervision to assigned supervisees in the delivery of psychotherapy and/or skills services to students and families in the school, office and home settings.
  • Supervise and support assigned supervisees on best practice when conducting diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for services, including review, providing feedback, determining service recommendations and signing completed assessments.
  • Complete all documentation review for assigned supervisees in a timely fashion and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors who oversee assigned to supervisees, such as directors, coordinators, HR or administrative supervisors, especially when there are concerns for performance.
  • Complete annual mandatory trainings to be compliant with Fernbrook training requirements.
  • Complete required CEUs according to the licensing board to maintain status as a licensure supervisor with the board.
  • Actively seek out supervisory and peer consultation and direction as needed.
  • Uphold and communicate Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally.
  • Follow all agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of sitting, listening, observing, or using a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Work hours are flexible, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Regular travel to client homes, community settings, Fernbrook offices, and off-site locations where clients may be placed is required.
  • Salaried employees work 40–43 hours per week; additional hours may be required to meet client and program needs.
  • Hourly employees may work up to 40 hours per week; overtime must be pre-approved by a supervisor.

Travel

Qualified Mental Health Professional Supervisors CT supervisors currently have no travel expectations as all licensing boards have approved electronic eye-to-eye supervision. CT supervisors should use the agency’s TEAMS platform when providing supervision for Fernbrook staff. This requirement is subject to change if the licensing boards change their requirements.

Required Education And Experience

  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required for positions involving community-based client contact.
  • Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with agency and Department of Human Services requirements.
  • Licensure in one of the following license types: LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Experience working with children, adults, and families
  • Experience working in a supervisor position
  • Bilingual
