About The Role
As a School-Linked Mental Health Therapist (Clinical Trainee), you’ll play a key role in delivering therapeutic and skills-based services to children, adults, and families across school, home, and community environments. Under clinical supervision, you'll develop your clinical skills while supporting clients to build resilience and improve functioning.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and skills services in school and community settings
- Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine mental health service eligibility
- Collaborate with schools, families, and external providers to coordinate client care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets quality standards
- Engage in clinical supervision to support professional development and licensure
- Actively participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and supervision
- Promote and embody Fernbrook’s mission in every interaction
- Master’s degree (or current student in practicum/internship) in a mental health field working toward LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP licensure
- Passion for working with diverse populations, especially youth and families
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to professional boundaries
- Capacity to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Ability to adapt to a variety of community-based settings
- Openness to feedback and dedication to continuous learning
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn basic computer software
- Experience working with children, adults, and families
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)
- Fully licensed clinician (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, LP)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance
- Ability to pass a background check in compliance with DHS and agency policies
- Supportive team environment and clinical supervision
