We are currently seeking a Clinical Trainee (CT) to join our Cambridge team. If you're working toward independent licensure and want to build your clinical skills while making a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you!

Position Summary

As a Clinical Trainee, you'll provide diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and rehabilitative mental health services to children, adults, and families under the supervision of a licensed Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). You'll gain valuable clinical experience while receiving structured supervision designed to help you meet your professional licensure requirements.

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your clinical skills through a combination of direct client care, ongoing supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual, family, group, and rehabilitative mental health services.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for mental health services.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions under supervision.
• Meet established productivity and weekly billable service expectations.
• Complete timely, accurate, and high-quality clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with Fernbrook staff and community providers to coordinate client care.
• Participate in individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with your approved supervision plan.
• Seek consultation and guidance to support ethical and effective clinical practice.
• Attend staff meetings, agency trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Complete required continuing education and licensure-related training.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree or current enrollment in a graduate program completing a field placement leading toward licensure as one of the following:
• Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Licensed Psychologist (LP)
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required criminal background studies in accordance with Department of Human Services requirements.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children, adults, and families.
• Previous behavioral health or human services experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
  
  

Schedule & Work Environment

• Flexible schedule, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
• Services are provided in client homes, community settings, Fernbrook offices, schools, and other approved service locations.
• Regular travel throughout the service area is required.
• Salaried employees generally work 40–43 hours per week, based on client and program needs.
• Hourly employees may work up to 40 hours per week, with overtime requiring prior supervisor approval.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, observation, and active listening.
• Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
