Responsibilities
- Completes deliveries by driving truck or van to and from vendors.
- Load, unload, and organize merchandise using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Deliver products to customers or business locations promptly while providing excellent customer service.
- Verify delivery orders, obtain signatures, and document all delivery activities accurately.
- Assist in warehouse tasks including inventory management, moving stock, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Follow safety protocols during manual lifting, moving heavy items, and operating equipment to prevent accidents.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during shifts.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with route driving expertise.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of loading/unloading procedures.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks with manual transmissions safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and load handling tools.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and moving items efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
