We are looking for a responsible and responsive individual to put their knowledge of buildings and machine repair skills to use. We want someone with a team mentality who can take the initiative to install, repair, and monitor production machinery and building maintenance, along with the regular, day-to-day demands of this job.
The ideal candidate for this position would be able to do the following and possess the following
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Understand and utilize lockout/tag out equipment.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Coordination and scheduling of waste shipment management, external inspections (Fire, FM Global, Wastewater), and on-site EHS inspections
- Actively participate and lead safety team.
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned by Plant Manager or any other member of the leadership team
- All of these objectives must be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and efficiency
Experience/Education
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 4 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience.
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus.
Position Demands
- Able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time on a daily basis
- Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, climb etc
- Able to work at heights.
- Able to work safely with hazardous chemicals and wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
- OT possible on Fridays
