Accounts Payable Specialist
Fenton Mobility is growing quickly, and we are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who wants to grow with us. This is more than an invoice-processing position. We need someone who will take ownership of the AP function, build strong relationships with our vendors and internal teams, and help create the financial discipline and visibility needed to support a growing manufacturing organization.
What You’ll Own
You will be responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and organization of Fenton’s accounts payable process, including:
● Entering and processing vendor invoices and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
● Reconciling the AP subledger to the general ledger and investigating discrepancies through resolution.
● Completing credit card and bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
● Managing vendor statements, resolving discrepancies, and communicating directly with vendors when issues arise.
● Supporting accruals, prepaids, benefits, and other accounting responsibilities as your knowledge and capabilities develop.
● Identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and eliminate recurring issues.
● Maintaining clear work instructions and documentation so processes are consistent and scalable.
● Working closely with purchasing, receiving, operations, and finance to ensure invoices, receipts, and payments align.
We’re looking for someone who:

● Doesn't shy away from candid conversations. The candidate is comfortable challenging the status quo—whether that means holding external vendors accountable or refining inefficient internal workflows—always prioritizing respect, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
● Has prior accounts payable/accounting experience, experience working within an ERP system, and Excel skills.The candidate should be technically autonomous—able to investigate issues, build useful spreadsheets, analyze data, and find answers without needing step-by-step direction.
