FENTON CHARTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Job Description The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will support the implementation of speech and language services under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA will work with students in elementary school settings, assisting in the delivery of services identified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting student progress, and promoting communication development across school environments. Key Responsibilities: -Provide direct speech and language intervention services to students, as prescribed and supervised by a licensed SLP -Implement documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP -Support students in general education and special education settings, including small groups or individual sessions -Assist with documentation of student performance, progress toward IEP goals, and service logs -Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities based on the SLP’s lesson plans -Assist with informal data collection and language sampling -Monitor and report changes in student status to the supervising SLP -Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as outlined by ASHA, the California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (SLPAHADB), and FERPA -Adhere to school and organization policies and procedures -Engage positively with students, staff, and families to support student success Qualifications: -Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent coursework approved by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board -Current and valid California SLPA license -Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a public school or educational setting -Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills -Ability to follow directions, manage a schedule, and work collabora
