What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Machine Operator - Finishing Department position at Fenner Precision Polymers?
1st Shift : Monday - Thursday; 6:00am-4:30pm
Level 1 Finisher:
- Able to operate the Press Brake, Shear, or hot machine as a “helper”.
- Assist “main” Finishers in shearing panels, bending edges, and pouring Polyamide.
- Capable of using a measuring tape, calipers, and able to use math with fractions, decimals, and multiplication/addition.
- Perform visual inspection to meet product quality requirements.
- Willingly supports the team in all efforts towards continuous improvement.
- Able to adjust schedule to fluctuate work priorities, as needed.
- Supports the department by performing other tasks of equal to or lesser job grades as required.

Level 2 Finisher:
- Demonstrates and is able to maintain effectiveness in all level 1 responsibility.
- Operate a Press Brake, Shear, or Holt Melt Machine as “main” Finisher. “Main” Finisher must be able to dictate correct setups and machine settings to ensure quality products are being made.
- Provide “helper” with directions and communicate what help is
- Assist and train Level I Finishers and aspiring level II Finishers if

Level 3 Finisher:
- Preset, setup (in a timely manner), and able to be “main” Finisher on all Press Brakes, Shears, and Hot Melt Machines.
- Understanding, compliance, and active involvement in establishing ISO standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in LEAN and World Class improvement
- Assist and train Level I and II
- Always Promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environmental, Health & Safety Expectations:
- Learn and follow EHS policies, rules and work instructions
- Attend required EHS training
- Wear the required PPE at all times
- Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, work place inspections, corrective actions and safety observations
- Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the work place. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.
