This role is within Fello’s Self-Directed Services department where we contract with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) as a Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) provider. In this Medicaid program, participants are the Employer of Record and hire their own workers and choose their services, while Fello handles all administrative tasks including payroll and bill payment.
The Director of Processing Operations will lead all the accounting functions of the processing area of Self-Directed Services. Reporting to the Senior Director of Self-Directed Services, the Director of Processing Operations will ensure that the areas of Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Financial Reporting meet and exceed the Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) contract requirements. The Director of Processing Operations will be customer service–focused and will provide ongoing coaching and support to all Processing team members. The Director of Processing Operations will support the growth of Self-Directed Services and is a member of the Leadership Council.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting leadership experience and a deep understanding of financial management processes, internal controls, and compliance. They will bring proven skills in managing payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions, as well as experience with contract management and process improvement. A collaborative, flexible, and solutions-oriented leader, the Director of Processing Operations will be hands-on, detail-focused, and committed to fostering a high-performing team. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly in a mission-driven environment are essential.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and at least five years of accounting leadership experience at the accounting manager level. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
