We are currently seeking a Water Jet Operator to join our Freehold, NJ metal fabrication shop. You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we launch new products from our Freehold facility.
Responsibilities:
- Operate FLOW mach 150 Waterjet to accurately complete customer orders.
- Read job specifications to determine and maintain machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Ability to work with quality inspection tools including micrometers and calipers and perform basic dimensional tolerances.
- Continually measure work piece dimensions to assure constant specification accuracy throughout machine operation.
- Set up and operate CNC water jet machines to cut steel, aluminum, and solid surface materials according to engineering drawings and production schedules.
- Interpret CAD files, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate part geometry and tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting parameters (pressure, abrasive flow, speed) based on material type and thickness.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and surface finish using calipers, gauges, and visual checks.
- Collaborate with engineering and casework teams to optimize cutting strategies for complex countertop designs and custom components.
- Maintain detailed production records, including material usage, job completion times, and quality control logs.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, machine guarding, and handling of high-pressure systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in fabrication workflow and material utilization.
- Prioritize workload to meet customer requirements and company performance goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or technical certification in CNC machining or manufacturing technology.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC water jet or similar cutting equipment.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and CAD files.
- Familiarity with solid surface materials (e.g., Corian, HI-MACS) and metal fabrication techniques.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 quality systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
Compensation: $23-$25 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
