Your Role as a Cocinero:
Our Cocineros are at the heart of Felipe’s, preparing all hot recipes for the burrito line while ensuring every dish meets our high standards for quality, temperature, and consistency. Here’s what your day could look like:
- Prepare with Purpose: Calculate batch sizes, execute recipes accurately, and cook all dishes to perfection according to established specifications (yes, that means tasting everything!).
- Keep It Fresh: Cook smaller batches more frequently based on demand and evaluate food quality from previous shifts.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Stock the line on time, rotate food into clean pans regularly, and adjust preparation to match business volume.
- Maintain Excellence: Follow safe food handling practices, time and temperature controls, and ensure your workstation is always clean and organized.
- Collaborate: Work closely with the Kitchen Leads and MOD to report inventory, par levels, and equipment status.
This is a hands-on role that includes handling hot pans, multitasking recipes, and organizing workspaces while supporting your team and delivering for our guests.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Review food quality from previous shifts to plan for the day.
- Complete assignments from the prep list.
- Evaluate batch amounts and adjust as needed.
- Cook all recipes exactly according to Felipe’s standards.
- Keep the hot line stocked throughout the day for ultimate guest satisfaction.
- Rotate, label, and handle all food items properly.
- Maintain, clean, and care for all kitchen equipment.
- Break down and clean up your workstation promptly at closing time.
What We’re Looking For:
- A passion for cooking and working in the kitchen.
- Experience in handling batch cooking, prep, and kitchen organization is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with team members and leadership.
- A commitment to cleanliness, quality, and guest satisfaction.
