Our client is seeking an entry-level professional to support day-to-day trade operations and settlement activities across multiple asset types and global markets. This contract role is ideal for someone looking to build foundational experience in financial services operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, client service, and risk awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile trade economic details between clients and counterparties, identifying and escalating discrepancies.
- Support the settlement of securities across different markets by coordinating with client custodians and counterparties.
- Monitor and assist in resolving failed trades, cash movements, collateral settlements, and corporate actions.
- Work closely with internal teams, clients, and counterparties to ensure transactions and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage daily transaction volumes while adhering to strict deadlines and operational procedures.
- Utilize internal systems and third-party platforms to process daily trade and settlement activity.
- Assist with updating team procedures and documentation as needed.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, and meetings.
- Respond to client inquiries promptly and in line with service-level expectations.
- Maintain a risk-aware mindset by proactively identifying, escalating, and documenting issues or potential risks.
- Follow all data privacy, information security, and business continuity policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in financial services, operations, or a related environment (internships welcome).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Basic understanding of financial markets, securities, and trade settlement concepts is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with systems, data, and technology platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Organized, reliable, and able to follow established procedures.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to data security and confidentiality.
