Role Description The Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Seaford, NY. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end billing process, including preparing and issuing invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project information for correct billing, posting payments, reconciling customer accounts, and following up on overdue balances in a professional manner. The specialist will communicate regularly with internal teams and external clients to clarify billing details, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely collection of receivables. The role also involves generating billing and AR reports, supporting month-end close activities, and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Billing Process and Client Billing, with experience managing full-cycle billing activities.
- Proficiency in Invoicing, including creating, reviewing, and adjusting invoices based on project or contract terms.
- Solid Accounting knowledge, including basic bookkeeping, reconciliations, and understanding of accounts receivable workflows.
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with clients, internal teams, and leadership regarding billing and payment issues.
- Relevant experience working in billing, accounts receivable, or accounting support, preferably in a professional services or government-related environment.
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and time management, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
