Position: Team Lead, Welding Cell Assembly - 3rd Shift

Supervisor: Heather Mayfield, Production Supervisor

Shift: 3rd Shift

Please note that if selected for the role, any changes to pay will be evaluated and managed on a case-by-case basis at the time of conversion and position acceptance. This is a new position within the company that may require travel to ALBA in Georgia for additional training. Lastly, the pay for this position will align with standard production plus the additional $2/hour Team Lead premium.

Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting assembly operations ensuring efficiency targets. Expected to manage and escalate machine, personnel, and quality issues following defined escalation paths.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start and stop shifts on computers
  • Audit cells referencing production schedules
  • Communicate quality issues to assemblers, and/or process, and supervisor
  • Communicate and conduct base quality investigations for any quality issues or concerns that may arise
  • Identify and coordinate the repair and/or removal of damaged or non-functional tools
  • Accurately track and record downtime, rework and scrap
  • Identify nonconforming frames in alignment with established boundary samples
  • Identify nonconforming subcomponents and follow scrap procedures
  • Place multiple single parts inside a welding table which is followed by robotic welding
  • Complete visual check on every frame to ensure the robot is producing quality welds
  • Maintain a clean work area according to 5S
  • Perform light maintenance, including cleaning welding tables and changing welding tips
  • Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the welding cell function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX (information security).
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Above average leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient working knowledge of all equipment and processes in designated area.
  • Troubleshooting skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing environment. The individual will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing activities with regard to continuous improvement. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.

  • High School Diploma/GED

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions/general production information written and communicated in English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The employee is required to stand, walk, lift, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Standing for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to bend over and pick up debris and material.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.

  • Works with Employees, Supervisor, Line Leads, Process and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Works as a team with fellow employees.
