SUMMARY:

The Quality Liaison checks parts for conformance to customer standards. When defects are found the Liaison reworks parts and report back to the plant of issues found. The Customer Quality Liaison is the face of Fehrer and is required to represent Fehrer with the highest standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check parts for conformance to customer standards
  • Communicate quality issues to Quality Engineer, and Quality Manager in a timely manner
  • Identify nonconforming material
  • Rework nonconforming material
  • Check with Customer Representatives daily pertaining to any issues or concerns they may have
  • Help train proxy to fill in if he/she is absent
  • Sort material line side or at Customer warehouse if needed
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies.  Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the quality function.  This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Liaison should the ability to communicate with the customer
  • Knowledge of all the quality standards for all of the parts
  • Works with floor supervisor, shift lead and line leads
  • Communicate and establish a close relationship with the Customer
  • Works as a team with all employees in the production area

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required.  One to three years of experience in manufacturing is required.   Experience in     assembly is strongly preferred.  Must also possess a working knowledge of using standard operating procedures or experience using work instructions to perform manufacturing tasks.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common instructional documents and reports. Ability to respond with good verbal and written communication in regards to blue prints and reports.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math, calibrations and statistics.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.  Required travel will consist of traveling from plant to plant (Fehrer, Supplier, Customer), including international travel may be required.
