The Opportunity


We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead and continuously improve our accounting operations as Feel Good Foods enters its next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for the integrity of the company's financial records, leading all accounting operations, treasury, inventory and cost accounting, trade accounting, internal controls, tax & audit compliance, and corporate administration. The Controller will own the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, ensuring accurate, timely and GAAP-compliant financial results and external third party accounting audit process. 


This role partners closely with the Director of FP&A by delivering complete, reconciled and reliable financial information that serves as the foundation for forecasting, budgeting, profitability analysis and executive reporting. Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who enjoys building scalable accounting processes, strengthening controls, improving systems and developing a high-performing accounting organization.



What You'll Own


Financial Leadership

  • Lead all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting and Financial Reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Continuously improve the monthly close process while maintaining exceptional accuracy and strong internal controls.
  • Develop scalable accounting policies and procedures that support continued company growth.


Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting

  • Oversee inventory valuation, standard costing, manufacturing accounting, co-manufacturing accounting, landed costs, reserves and inventory controls.
  • Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain to improve manufacturing reporting, SKU profitability and gross margin visibility.
  • Ensure accurate product costing and financial analysis to support pricing and operational decision-making.


Treasury & Working Capital

  • Lead treasury operations including cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships and working capital optimization.
  • Oversee cash forecasting and support financing activities as the business grows.
  • Partner with the CFO on capital planning, debt management and strategic financial initiatives.


Compliance, Tax & Internal Controls

  • Own the company's internal control environment, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
  • Lead the annual external audit, coordinating with auditors, preparing supporting documentation and implementing recommendations that strengthen financial processes and controls.
  • Maintain accounting records, reconciliations and supporting documentation in a state of continuous audit readiness.
  • Build and maintain accounting processes, documentation and controls that ensure the company is prepared for financial due diligence associated with acquisitions, financing activities, strategic investments or other corporate transactions.
  • Partner with the CFO and external advisors during due diligence by preparing financial schedules, responding to information requests and supporting transaction execution.
  • Oversee tax compliance in partnership with external advisors, including income tax, sales tax and other regulatory filings.


Systems & Process Improvement

  • Continue to optimize NetSuite and related financial systems while identifying opportunities for automation and improved reporting.
  • Champion process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce manual work and improve decision-making across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally to implement scalable financial processes that support future growth.
  • Develop scalable accounting processes and documentation that support both operational growth and transaction readiness.


Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO and executive leadership team.
  • Support acquisitions, financing activities, due diligence efforts and other strategic corporate initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Product Development and Leadership to improve financial visibility and decision-making.


Corporate Administration

  • Provide executive oversight of corporate administration, including treasury operations, business insurance, PEO administration, employee onboarding processes, corporate compliance and finance-related administrative functions.
  • Partner with the CFO to ensure the company maintains efficient, scalable administrative infrastructure as the organization grows.


What Success Looks Like


During your first 12 months, you'll help us:

  • Lead a consistent, timely and accurate monthly close process.
  • Build an accounting organization capable of supporting Feel Good Foods' continued growth.
  • Strengthen inventory, manufacturing and trade accounting processes.
  • Improve the efficiency and scalability of accounting operations through automation and process improvements.
  • Optimize NetSuite and related accounting systems.
  • Successfully lead the annual audit while maintaining a strong internal control environment.
  • Establish accounting processes and documentation that keep the company audit-ready and due diligence-ready at all times.
  • Build a trusted partnership with FP&A by consistently delivering complete, accurate and timely financial information that supports planning, forecasting and executive decision-making.


What You Bring


  • CPA required with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including at least three years as a Controller or Assistant Controller within a product-based business.
  • Strong consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing or food industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, trade spend, treasury and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading ERP implementations or optimization initiatives; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, financing transactions, due diligence or other strategic corporate initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build processes, improve controls and lead organizational change within a fast-growing company.
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail, exceptional integrity and a hands-on leadership style.

Compensation & Benefits


Salary range: $175,000–$200,000, plus eligibility for discretionary bonus plus additional role-specific incentives based on experience and qualifications.
