POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resources operations while leading recruitment, talent development, and team-member lifecycle initiatives. This role will work with the Director of HR to build a high-performing workforce, ensure compliance with employment laws, and provide hands-on guidance in employee relations, investigations and performance management. The HRM will coach and develop HR team members while serving as a trusted advisor to managers and team members.
SALARY: $68,000 - $78,000
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead high volume, full cycle recruiting efforts, including workforce planning job postings, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Ensure a positive and compliant candidate experience.
Oversee and continuously improve the onboarding process to ensure successful integration of new hires.
Manage team member lifecycle processes including promotions, transfers, performance management and offboarding.
Ensure accurate and timely HR documentation and recordkeeping.
Support talent development initiatives, including training, performance management and succession planning.
Provide direct coaching and mentoring to HR team members, fostering professional growth and accountability.
Manage, develop and evaluate HR team members, setting clear goals and expectations.
Delegate responsibilities effectively while ensuring consistent delivery.
Conduct or oversee workplace investigations including complaints related to performance, conduct, harassment and policy violations.
Ensure investigations are fair, thorough, timely and well-documented, with appropriate follow-up actions.
Partner with leadership and operations team to develop and implement and maintain workplace safety policies and programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Ensure Compliance with OSHA regulations, including recordkeeping, reporting, training and inspections.
Direct and guide workers’ compensation claims, including incident reporting, coordination of insurance carriers, medical providers and return-to-work.
Maintain strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant and consistently applied.
Advise leadership on risk management and employee relations matters.
Manage daily HR functions including team member inquiries, policy interpretation, benefits administration support, and HR systems.
Monitor HR and safety metrics, trends and compliance requirements and recommend improvements to processes and programs.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent hands-on experience.
HR Certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SHPR)
5 years of progressive HR experience including people management responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, employee relations and HR operations.
Practical hands-on experience conducting workplace investigations.
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and OSHA requirements.
Strong judgment discretion and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative leadership style with a focus on continued improvement.
Working knowledge of MS Suite; Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation: Organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., this position may work additional hours occasionally throughout the year, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, and disaster response.
Environment: This position works in an office setting with varying periods of standing, talking, and/or visual concentration, and use of office equipment. Must maintain office safety standards. Occasional work will occur in the warehouse or outside in fields and warehouses in inclement weather. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Travel: This position may have occasional travel for meetings, conferences or special events which may require the use of a personal vehicle.
OSHA Standards Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
