Job Summary
Feed Cafe is hiring part time experienced Line/ Prep cook. Restaurant experience required. Looking for someone who will be able to quickly learn line cooking and help in prep when there is down time. We are a FAST paced HIGH volume restaurant. Hours will likely be around 9am start time and end around 3pm. We offer employee discounts, matching IRA and PTO. We make almost everything in house from scratch. This is a tipped position and hourly rate will be based on experience. Hourly rate between 18-22 per hour. Hourly tipped is usually 15 to 20.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes efficiently according to menu specifications and safety standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing using proper knife skills, and portioning ingredients accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food storage and prep stations
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene compliance at all times
- Support meal preparation for catering events or daily service, ensuring timely delivery of quality products
- Adhere to safety standards during food production, including proper use of equipment and utensils
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent food service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
