Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
- Lead the financial reporting function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant SEC and U.S. GAAP reporting
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual filings, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and other external disclosures
- Develop, coach, and mentor to a high-performing reporting team, promoting collaboration and accountability
- Serve as the technical accounting resource for complex transactions and policy interpretation
- Partner with the CAO and Internal Audit to ensure financial reporting processes meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and internal control requirements
- Oversee documentation and compliance for all accounting standards and disclosure controls
- Maintain consistent application of accounting policies across the enterprise, incorporating lessons learned from RemainCo
- Work closely with FP&A, Treasury, and Legal to align reporting with financial strategy and corporate governance
- Support audit and disclosure processes with external auditors, ensuring alignment on accounting treatments and timelines
- Partner with Technology and Finance Systems to enhance reporting automation and data accuracy
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience in a large or complex organization
- At least five (5) years in a leadership role overseeing external financial reporting or technical accounting
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and disclosure requirements
- Proven ability to interpret and implement new accounting standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, capable of translating complex accounting matters for senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and building strong partnerships with auditors, regulators, and internal functions
- Some travel required between Memphis and Harrison
