The employee is frequently required to squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and crawl. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift/carry up to 25 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum force of 200 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor and outdoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position regularly requires exposure to traffic noise and fumes.
The employee occasionally with near video display. This position may be exposure to angry, frustrated, or aggressive individuals, typically in a school classroom environment.
WORK SCHEDULE
Hours and days will vary from school to school. Assignments can vary from fifteen (15) minutes to six (6) hours daily.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position reports building/department administrator.
REPRESENTATION
This position is non-represented.
Level Of Compensation - 2024-25
Certificated Teachers providing Private School Title I services will receive our standard curriculum rate of $39.62 per hour.
All other tutors will receive our Substitute Paraeducator pay of $25.19 per hour.

- Supervise and monitor students in accordance with the school and district policies.
- Tutor students one-on-one or in small groups in the areas of reading, writing or math through supplemental tutorial support (and may not perform activities normally performed by classroom assistants or classroom teachers)
- Perform record keeping and clerical functions for the purpose of providing necessary records/materials
- Monitor individuals and/or groups of students in a variety of settings
- Confer with teachers and/or parents as may be required for the purpose of providing input into the evaluation of students' progress and/or implementing/modifying students' objectives
- Provide information, as requested by building or program staff, regarding the specific tutorial activities performed and conducted with assigned students
- Attend functions as assigned (e.g. meetings, in-service presentations, trainings, etc.) for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions
- Communicate concerns to the principal regarding any violations of safety standards or lack of cooperation on the part of students or drivers.
- Help students problem solve and resolve conflicts.
- Report safety hazards seen on campus to main office so appropriate action can be taken.
- Follow protocol when assisting an injured student.
- Establish an environment that encourages appropriate behavior and redirect student behaviors that are not in line with the school behavior expectations.
- Assist the teacher in the communicating with other building/district staff members and parents.
- Inform the advising teacher to any observed problems or information regarding an individual student.
- Perform instructional/tutorial assignments and keep records as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Interact positively with students, parents, and staff.
- Give positive reinforcement to students throughout the day.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent,
- And one of the following:
- AA degree, OR
- 48 College-Level Semester Credits, OR
- 72 College-Level Quarter Credits, OR
- Pass the state approved ParaPro Assessment
