Position Summary

The Senior Production Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production scheduling activities within the plant. This role ensures efficient material flow, on-time completion of production orders, and alignment between incoming chassis, manufacturing capacity, and customer delivery expectations. The position plays a critical role in balancing workload across departments and supporting operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling & Planning
    • Develop, manage, and maintain production schedules for all manufacturing operations.
    • Coordinate the scheduling of incoming chassis and ensure timely integration into production workflows.
    • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • ERP System Management
    • Utilize SyteLine ERP to manage production orders, track work-in-progress, and maintain accurate data.
    • Ensure all production data, job statuses, and inventory records are up-to-date and accurate within the system.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Work closely with the Sales Team to align production schedules with customer delivery commitments.
    • Communicate regularly with department supervisors to ensure feasibility and adherence to schedules.
    • Understand and manage the constraints and capacities of each production department (fabrication, welding, assembly, etc.).
  • Material & Workflow Management
    • Oversee the flow of materials and components through the plant to avoid bottlenecks and delays.
    • Prioritize jobs to optimize efficiency, machine utilization, and labor resources.

 

 

  • Backup Support (Nesting)
    • Provide backup support for nesting operations for laser and plasma cutting systems.
    • Ensure optimal material usage and cutting efficiency when performing nesting tasks.

 

  • Performance Monitoring
    • Track key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, throughput, and schedule adherence.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Reporting Structure
    • Reports directly to the Plant Manager.
    • Provides regular updates on production status, risks, and schedule performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with SyteLine ERP (or similar manufacturing ERP systems).
    • 5 years minimum.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling and control within a manufacturing environment. 5-7 years’ experience
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and department constraints.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with inside and outside sales teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in metal fabrication or similar industries utilizing laser and plasma cutting.
  • Familiarity with nesting software and cutting optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
